As part of the 58th Horticultural Science Conference, held March 4–6, 2026, at Erfurt University of Applied Sciences, Lara Bürig (Julius Kühn Institute, Institute for Horticulture and Urban Greenery) was awarded third place in the poster competition. The poster is titled “What Types of Land Use Are Suitable for Urban Agricultural Parks? A Comparative Framework as a Basis for Planning.” The study examines how various forms of urban agriculture can contribute to the provision of ecosystem services and how these uses can be combined with sports and recreational areas in the context of needs-based land-use planning. As part of the research project on the Öjendorf Innovation Area, a comparative framework was developed for this purpose. The classification system developed enables a structured comparison of the strengths and weaknesses of various land uses and provides a planning framework for integrating multifunctional agricultural parks into urban open spaces.
