Review & Insights
For the joint season wrap-up, the project team met at the test site in Öjendorf. Together, they reviewed this year’s season, exchanged experiences, and documented key insights. The focus was on topics such as communication, responsibilities, and routines, as well as the further development of the site concept. The past year has shown the importance of a shared understanding of the site as a space for innovation and production. Clear communication among all stakeholders, a common mission statement, and solid structures promote collaboration and facilitate further development.
For the upcoming season, several points are to be improved: stronger public relations, an upgrade of the entrance area and the communal space, an additional pump and IBC containers, and temporary infrastructure for events. In the coming weeks, the site will be prepared for winter – beds will be covered, equipment stored, and the infrastructure made ready for the cold season.
All current changes can be found in our Site Diary.
Outlook
The test and demonstration site will be extended for another year until the end of 2027. This valuable time will be used to test new approaches and incorporate the findings into the development of the landscape laboratories. The market garden is expected to be enlarged to intensify cultivation and further expand marketing. In addition, we will receive animal support: bees will move onto the site in the future and help pollinate the flowering areas.
Anticipation for the next season is high – with new ideas, improved structure, and plenty of room for experimentation.
