As part of the Ecosystem Services Partnership Conference 2026, Viktoria Khokhlova presented the work of the Öjendorf Innovation Area in the session “Co-creating with people and nature: inclusive Nature-based Solutions to promote justice and equity for building sustainable, resilient, and liveable cities”. The focus was on how urban agriculture can be integrated as a multifunctional and nature-based infrastructure into urban development processes, and what role cooperative planning and governance approaches play in this.
The presentation introduced the approaches developed in the project for the joint design of productive landscapes, the linking of biodiversity, nutrition, recreation, and climate adaptation, as well as the development of long-term governance structures. Furthermore, the conference offered valuable impulses for the further development of the project, particularly regarding participatory nature-based solutions, innovative approaches to ecosystem service assessment, and the stronger integration of science, planning practice, and politics for nature-positive urban development.
